TOPIC: How to: 'domain move' functionality in L.C.D Registrar Module

How to: 'domain move' functionality in L.C.D Registrar Module 2 years 3 months ago #494

Hello!

Just a short question regarding this:

"Move Domain / Services This Tool moves the Domain and all associated Products from one customer to another customer in WHMCS and in your Reseller Account."

and

"Move Domain to another Client This Tool allows Customers to move their domains from their whmcs account to another whmcs account. By default, this tool is not activated. To allow access you have to activate the tool and configure the permissions for "Admin Only" or "Admin and Clients"."

Does this means that WHMCS built-in function for merging account, move products/domains to other accounts doesn't work after installations of this module?

Cheers!

Hi,

No, the built-in whmcs merge tool will work as expected. However, merge accounts or move domains/services using the WHMCS built-in functions does not move the domains/services in your reseller account and this will finally end in to customer email mismatch between whmcs and your reseller account.

A lot of API functions are based on the customer email. Any mismatch will result in api errors.

Best is always the following way:

Move domains/services first into the new account using the free Tools and then merge the accounts with the WHMCS built-in function.

Regards,
Marco
